About

Guy Shotton is a pianist, organist, and collaborative musician based in New York City. With a diverse background in jazz, classical and contemporary styles, he brings technical precision and creative depth to every performance and session.

Orignally from Bristol (UK), his in-demand and versatile musicianship has been honed by years of collaboration in a variety of musical idioms. Professional highlights include session and television work for the BBC and global festival appearances at Bern Jazz Festival (SWI), Potenza Jazz (ITA), Cork International Jazz Festival (IRL) and Bristol Jazz and Blues Festival (UK).

Alongside his work as a performer, he is heavily involved in both private and community music education. He is an experienced music director having been assistant director of the Bristol Hippodrome Community Choir (UK) for several years and having worked with many different established vocal artists as an accompanist and arranger, including Omar Kamal (Sony) and Karis Thomas (BBC, The Voice).

Current projects in New York include developing music for a new play written by actor/director Deborah Offner and session work with film composer Kalaisan Kalaichelvan for upcoming Netflix series ‘BET’.

He holds an undergraduate degree in music from Cardiff University School of Music in the UK and a master of music from The New School College of Performing Arts in NYC.
